Was in my opinion the best and maybe the only way to get this kind of heating/cooling in an older and inefficient home at a more reasonable price with the option to do it myself. Ameristar furnaces ARE the same as Trane and American standard furnaces (per trane tech support), except they don't have a painted finish. Even made in the same Trenton NJ factory. This furnace is about 40% cheaper here, on this site, than the same model in a Trane is from the local distributor.

One fan, and A coil is not freezing up has run from 6 am till now -- 7:30pm at 93 degrees outside temp---- other two should be coming to their new home soon

Installed it in the bonus room above our garage. About 300 sq/ft. Insulated with 6" rolled installation, but ceiling being 6" under roof has a very high radiant heat effect in hot times of year. 9000 BTU's does job nicely. Can cool room to 65' to satisfy my most demanding guest from the north. But the most amazing thing is how quiet outside unit is.
